Although Lima New York native David Stills sang most of his life, it wasn't until he joined BC3, the now defunct professional a cappella group based out of Madison WI, that he began to consider a career in the music industry. While attending Ithaca college, David sang in a group named Ithacappella, and even though he recalls the experience as: “some of the most fun I had in my entire life”, he didn't actually think he would sing after he graduated. As a student majoring in Psychology and Neuroscience, he was planning on going on to medical school to eventually become a psychiatrist. When asked about his decision to put academia on the back-burner for the time being David replies:
“I guess it's just where I am in my life at the moment. I have to sing, and I want to do it often. I want to perform and one cannot perform and sing and also go to school and pay for school and get good grades at the same time. At least, I can't. I want to make sure I live my life so that I have no regrets when it's time to kick the bucket.”
So, it was with this sentiment in his heart that David enthusiastically joined The Cat's Pajamas. |
