- Mike Hilliker - Tenor
-
Mike Hilliker found his voice in Flint, Michigan, belting out the beloved tunes of Billy Joel, James Taylor and the Jazz Greats. After joining his first barbershop quartet at the age of 8, he began harmonizing, incessantly. He then sang in many cappella ensembles and musical companies, as well as in the shower during his tenure at Flushing High School.
Mike graduated in May ‘11 from Michigan State University with a degree in Film and Audio Production. While at MSU, he played violin with the MSU Philharmonic and also sang in the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, where he received the award for “Most Outstanding Vocal Soloist” at the Western Michigan Jazz Festival. He also produced, arranged for and sang with the highly regarded coed a cappella group, “State of Fifths,” which he founded during his junior year. Also at Michigan State, Mike worked as an engineer for Recording Services and as the Lead Audio Designer for the video game “Olympus.”(a Wii Fitness game produced through the MSU GEL Labs
In his spare time, he enjoys recording and mixing any band or a cappella group willing to stand in front of a microphone. His guilty pleasures are cherry chapstick, slushies, and ultimate frisbee. But whether being interrogated by foreign police, skiing off cliffs or stunt doubling for Daniel Craig, Mike always finds time for some a cappella.
Mike is truly grateful for the opportunity to sing with The Cat's Pajamas in Branson. He would also like to thank his loving family and friends for their constant support and grudging tolerance of his relentless beatboxing.-
